About us

Small by design. Personal by practice.

Lintern Care exists to help people lead the lives they choose—in their own homes, on their own tenancies and connected to the people and places that matter to them.

Our standard

Support we would want for our own family.

Why we are here

Lintern Care is a small provider whose directors stay involved and know every person we support by name. We work in West Essex—Uttlesford, Epping Forest and Harlow—because local clusters make consistent teams possible.

We provide personal care and support in people’s own homes. We do not provide accommodation. Housing stays with an approved landlord, so a person’s home does not depend on who supports them.

In practice

What that means day to day

Values only matter if they change how support is planned and reviewed.

  • The person leads

Plans are written with each person, around what matters to them as well as what is important for them.

  • Rights stay visible

Privacy, communication, culture, faith, relationships and choice are part of good support—not extras.

  • Independence is the measure

Success is what a person can build, keep or do for themselves—not how much we do for them.

  • We are open when things go wrong

We explain, apologise when we are at fault and show what we have changed.

Where we work

Lintern Care works across West Essex: Uttlesford (including Saffron Walden), Epping Forest (including Epping) and Harlow. Support is organised in local clusters so people see a small, familiar team.

What we do not do

Being clear about limits is part of being a responsible provider.

  • We do not provide accommodation or run a care home.
  • We do not support children or young people under 18.
  • We do not operate as an older-people service, or where dementia is the primary need.
  • If someone’s needs sit outside our competence, geography or staffing, we will say so rather than take on support we cannot do well.

Tell us what good support would look like

If you are looking for support in Uttlesford, Epping Forest or Harlow, we would like to understand what matters to you. Families, advocates and professionals are welcome to contact us too.
