What is supported living?

This page uses short sentences. Read the full supported living page

Your own home

Supported living means you live in your own home.

You have a tenancy. A tenancy is an agreement for your home.

It is not a care home.

Housing and support are separate

A landlord provides your home.

Lintern Care can provide support.

Your home should not depend on who supports you.

What support can include

Help at home, like cooking or cleaning.

Help with washing and dressing, if you need it.

Help to go out, see people, or go to appointments.

Help to learn skills and keep your health.

How people usually get this support

Essex County Council can assess what help you may get.

You can read more on the Essex County Council supported living page.
